ROLE DESCRIPTION

Lead complex advisory engagements, negotiating contracts and managing strategic client relationships. Ensure compliance with insurance and regulatory requirements, driving business development and pursuing new opportunities. Deliver risk management advice, including contract reviews and risk allocation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and oversee complex, high-value insurance and risk advisory engagements
  • Develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies for clients
  • Review and negotiate insurance contracts, construction agreements, and loan documents
  • Provide expert advice on risk allocation, contractual risk transfer, and insurance structures
  • Drive business development initiatives and identify new market opportunities
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior consultants and analysts
  • Present to senior client stakeholders and participate in client meetings
  • Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks
  • Contribute to thought leadership and knowledge sharing within the organization

 

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, insurance, or a related field
  • Professional designations such as CIP, CRM, RIMS-CRMP, or equivalent 
  • 10-15 years of experience in insurance advisory, risk management, or senior insurance roles
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial insurance products, particularly for construction, real estate, and infrastructure projects
  • Proven experience managing large-scale, complex client engagements
  • Strong understanding of contractual risk transfer, indemnities, and insurance requirements in major projects
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with experience mentoring junior team members
  • Strategic planning abilities 
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English (written and oral)
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong technical expertise in policy analysis and risk assessment
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure
  • Experience working with institutional lenders, developers, insurers and legal counsel
  • Willingness to attend client meetings and industry events
