ROLE DESCRIPTION
Responsible for managing insurance and risk advisory engagements, focusing on real estate and construction projects. Provide strategic advice to lenders on insurance requirements and compliance. Cultivate and sustain strong client relationships, ensuring timely execution of deliverables and high client satisfaction. Support renewal processes, handle claims, and manage stakeholders relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage multiple insurance advisory engagements from initiation to completion
- Review and analyze insurance programs for complex real estate and construction projects
- Advise lenders on insurance compliance and risk mitigation strategies
- Conduct policy reviews and identify coverage gaps or deficiencies
- Prepare detailed reports and recommendations for clients
- Negotiate with brokers and insurers on behalf of clients
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, insurance, or a related field
- Relevant professional designations (CIP, CRM, or working towards completion)
- At least 10 years of experience in risk management and insurance
- Deep understanding of commercial property and casualty insurance, particularly construction and real estate
- Experience working with lenders, developers, or in commercial real estate finance
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex insurance policies and contracts
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English (written and oral)
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously
- Strong client relationship management and business development skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Willingness to travel as required
