ROLE DESCRIPTION

This position represents an opportunity to establish and develop a new role focused on insurance portfolio management, claims administration, and risk mitigation. The successful candidate will be responsible for building processes, establishing best practices, and creating systems to support the organization’s insurance and risk management needs.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Manage the company’s insurance portfolio and maintain relationships with brokers and carriers
  • Oversee claims processes from initial reporting through resolution
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies and protocols
  • Review contracts and project documentation for insurance compliance and risk exposure
  • Coordinate with project teams on insurance requirements and certificates
  • Establish departmental procedures and documentation standards
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in insurance coverage and claims management
  • Support leadership in strategic planning related to risk and insurance matters

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Background in insurance, risk management, construction, or related field
  • Experience with commercial insurance & claims management in the construction industry
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in building new processes
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English (written and oral)
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on, evolving environment
  • Interest in entrepreneurial opportunities within an established organization
