ROLE DESCRIPTION
Oversee all advisory engagements, developing strategic client relationships and driving departmental growth. Lead the team, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks and overseeing risk assessments. Mentor team members and manage complex client relationships, focusing on strategic planning and client satisfaction.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for the risk management advisory practice
- Oversee all insurance and risk advisory engagements, ensuring quality and timely delivery
- Review and negotiate insurance contracts, construction agreements, and loan documents
- Provide expert advice on risk allocation, contractual risk transfer, and insurance structures
- Develop and execute business development strategies to drive growth in Quebec market
- Build and maintain executive-level client relationships with key institutional clients
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of consultants and analysts
- Establish departmental goals, performance metrics, and operational standards
- Represent the organization at industry events and maintain thought leadership
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, insurance, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA considered an asset
- Professional designations such as CIP, CRM, or equivalent
- 15+ years of experience in insurance advisory, risk management, or senior leadership roles in insurance industry
- Proven experience managing and leading a risk management and insurance team
- Extensive expertise in commercial insurance, particularly construction, real estate, and infrastructure sectors
- Strategic planning and organizational leadership capabilities
- Deep understanding of lender insurance requirements and compliance frameworks
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English (written and oral)
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills at executive level
- Ability to influence and build consensus with diverse stakeholders
